Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how على بالي (Ala Baly) ("we", "us", "the Service") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our WhatsApp reminder assistant and mobile application.

1. What the Service does

Ala Baly lets you create reminders by sending text or voice messages to our WhatsApp number. We process your message to understand the reminder, store it, and send you a WhatsApp message and/or mobile push notification at the scheduled time.

2. Information we collect

  • Phone number and profile name — provided by WhatsApp when you message us; used as your account identity.
  • Message content — the text and voice messages you send to our WhatsApp number, and transcripts of voice messages.
  • Reminders — the reminders created from your messages, including titles, dates, and completion status.
  • Device information — a push-notification token for your device when you use the mobile app, and your timezone and language preferences.
  • Usage logs — technical logs (timestamps, delivery status, errors) needed to operate the Service reliably.

3. How we use your information

  • To create, schedule, and deliver your reminders.
  • To transcribe voice messages and extract reminder details using AI services (see Section 4).
  • To send you one-time login codes over WhatsApp.
  • To operate, debug, and improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described below.

4. Third-party processors

  • Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) — delivers messages between you and the Service. Your use of WhatsApp is also governed by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
  • OpenAI — processes your message text and voice audio to transcribe and extract reminder details. Audio and text are sent for processing only and are not used to train their models.
  • Google Firebase — delivers push notifications to the mobile app.

5. Data retention

  • Voice audio files are deleted immediately after transcription. Only the text transcript is kept, attached to your reminder.
  • Reminders and account data are kept while your account is active.
  • Technical logs are retained for a limited period for reliability and security purposes.
  • When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. See our Data Deletion page.

6. Security

All communication with our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to production data is restricted, webhook messages are cryptographically verified, and login codes are stored only in hashed form.

7. Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your data at any time: reminders can be edited or deleted in the mobile app, and your entire account can be deleted from the app's settings or by contacting us. You may also request a copy of your data.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required by WhatsApp in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the Service. The effective date above always reflects the latest version.
