Data Deletion
Effective date: August 6, 2026
You can delete your على بالي (Ala Baly) account and all associated data at any time, using either method below. If the account has an active paid subscription, cancel it at the store first — see the section directly below.
Before you delete — active subscriptions
An account with an active App Store or Google Play subscription cannot be deleted until that subscription is cancelled. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription — only Apple or Google can do that, from your own store account, and we cannot do it on your behalf. If the account went first, the store would keep charging you for a service you can no longer sign in to.
Cancel it on the subscriptions page of the App Store or Google Play; the app links straight there from Settings → Manage subscription → Cancel subscription. Cancelling stops the renewal and nothing else: your account stays exactly as it is, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the account is a separate step — one of the two below — and you can take it as soon as the renewal is off, without waiting for the paid period to run out, though anything left of that period goes with the account. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by us.
Option 1 — In the mobile app
- Open the Ala Baly app.
- Go to Settings → Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion.
Option 2 — By email
Send an email to support@alabaly.app from any address, including the phone number you use with the Service, with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify ownership of the number and process the deletion.
What gets deleted
- Your account (phone number, profile name, settings).
- All reminders and their history.
- All stored message transcripts.
- Device push-notification tokens and login sessions.
Your account is closed immediately and stops working the moment you confirm. The data itself is erased 7 days later — a short window that exists only so that an accidental deletion can still be undone by contacting support. Voice audio files are never stored long-term in the first place; they are deleted immediately after transcription.
Deletion is permanent — the number cannot be reused
Once deleted, the phone number and sign-in identity behind the account cannot be used with على بالي again. Signing up afresh, or messaging the WhatsApp assistant from that number, will be refused. This prevents deleted accounts being used to reset free usage limits.
When you delete, you are given a short support code. If you change your mind, send that code to support@alabaly.app and we can lift the block. Within the first 7 days your reminders come back with it; after that the block can be lifted but the data is gone for good.
What may be retained
To enforce the block described above, we keep a one-way cryptographic hash of your phone number and sign-in identity. A hash cannot be turned back into a phone number or an email address, and it holds nothing else about you — no name, no reminders, no history. It is kept indefinitely, because the block is permanent.
Minimal technical logs required for security and fraud prevention may be retained for a limited period, after which they are automatically purged. These logs no longer identify you once your account is deleted.
